I have also thought about cutting a few coils off the standard buffer spring to see if this helps. I need to find a reduced spring that I can try. I am leaning towards playing with the buffer spring and/or buffer. The idea of changing out the bolt carrier and gas block and such is not an option. So, my solution needs to be simple and easily available to all shooters. What is Subsonic Ammunition Quite simply, subsonic ammunition is any cartridge that propels its projectile at a velocity that is below the speed of soundapproximately 1100 fps depending on atmospheric conditions and elevation. What are some options I can do to help aid the cycling? My goal is to have a subsonic round to sell to any and all shooters who have an AR-15 with 16" barrel and a 1:8" or 1:7" twist barrel shooting suppressed. When I get my speed up just above 1100 fps (supersonic speed), it will cycle and the bolt will lock back on an empty mag. It will eject the spent case, but the bolt will not lock back on an empty magazine. When I get down to the speed I need, I can not get the bolt carrier to fully cycle the next round. I have a working subsonic load with both bullets in a standard M4 type, 16" barrel shooting suppressed. I am working with some custom 87 grain and 94 grain flat base, HP bullets that will stabilize in a 1:8" or 1:7" twist, 16" barrel. 223 /5.56 subsonic loads that will reliably cycle in an AR 15 type rifle The local Rifle club has approved indoor use of IPSC rifle but only with subsonic loads.Have 80, 90 and 100grn bullets available and most American brand powders and VihtaVuori pistol powders. 223/5.56 case to cause any pressure problems. What powders are you using in America to produce. 223 ammo (or any subsonic rifle ammo in general) is what you will be shooting it out of. I guarantee you can't load enough trailboss into a. The first question you need to answer about subsonic. 223, start with a HEAVIER powder charge and work DOWN to subsonic, not the other way around. Re: subsonic 223 that cycles +1 Aguilla 60gr Shoot them out of 20 RRA. I have found they give the most consistent ignition and velocities with Trailboss powder. I began working on my 223 subs that will cycle an AR. 223 subsonic ammo that cycles REM bullet produces 1280 foot/pound of energy at. I need some help guys! I know ammo very well, but I don't know the inner workings of an AR as well, like some of you do.
